- Original - Text Based - Post Apocalyptic Role Play
In twenty-thirty-two, about fifteen years ago, the world was reborn. It started with a virus, taking away those not equipped to survive it's brutality. Everyone who had it, died in weeks, days. There was no time for the brilliant scientist of the world to make a cure before they too were gone. Only time to lock those with it far away, in facilities. While the governments tried to keep the public unaware and safe.
It only took a while to notice that, the virus was only the start.
Hurricanes, floods, droughts, storms, like no one had ever seen before raged across cities. Nobody was prepared, the population were witnessing the end of their world. With it, they panicked. Mothers, Fathers, Sons, Daughters, everyone was affected. Families torn apart, Governments destroyed under the pressure of trying to find some sort of order. Worst of all, Country's went to war, desperate for supplies, as Mother Nature continued it's own war against the world.
Most died. Several thousand billion people, wiped away from existence. No where was safe. It seemed everyone anyone knew was either dead or slowly dying. To survive wasn't what most expected. To survive meant to change, transform into someone capable of taking care of themselves in a world where everyone only seemed to care about themselves.
Over the years, people started to evolve, rapidly. Or they just wanted to use what they had to survive, no one knows, but they didn't seem human anymore. Powers, witchcraft, stuff made of nightmares roamed around. Just living, like everyone else.
That wasn't the only thing that occurred with the world's transformation. Human's started eating other human's flesh. It started small, in some areas, but then attacks, killings, all to eat. Just to survive, when they couldn't get anything else. It was desperate at first, but then they didn't stop. They continued. Now they live on the fringes of the world. Shunned by all. Hated. Feared. People didn't want to associate with them. It was dangerous.
It was hard though, the shifting of the countries made it difficult to just hide away. America merged with Europe. Africa had been turned into a nuclear zone during the last war. Half of Australia was used for holding facilities. Making it a danger zone. The only places friendly enough was Britain, Canada and the rest of Europe.
Hardly anyone wanted to play nice. Some people got together and made little towns, gathering what they could in raids, and selling things they didn't need for things they did with other towns or travelers.
Once, every few weeks the weather would rage, storms, more frightening then the last. Able to kill a man, never showing mercy. To help, some survives spent a few years building the underground, a place where the weather can't get to them.
It's now twenty forty seven. Certain groups have started rebuilding. While others simply want to continue destroying what's left.
No matter the year, time, place, whoever you are. What matters is now, and what you can do to survive.
Will you find something worth hoping for?
Or die trying?
