It was a fairly chilly and windy day as Janus walked out to the quidditch field. He wasn't sure what brought him here but there were a lot of good memories. When he reached the edge of the field he stopped and took a swig from a potion vile he pulled out of his pocket before rubbing his left leg. He continued to wander the field turning round and round looking up, seeming to soak it all back in. A smile crept across his face as he had won the cup for the first time. He missed the game, but not as much as he thought he would when he had to retire. He had more happy memories then bad and he didn't regret anything at all. He then layed down in the grass on the field deciding just to enjoy the day.

Alex had been heading to the Forbiden Forest when she spotted the new teacher. She was on her way to train too! And, now, she wouldn't be able to. At this rate, she'd never be able to be able to keep doing her flips. She noticed that he seemed rather happy being on the pitch. Her eyebrow raised ever so slowly. 'He must be out of his mind.' Alex thought to herself. 'That game is suicide on sticks.' As a tomboy kinda girl, Alex loved competative games. But she didn't like quidditch. They had a hyper-active ball, an angry ball, and a normal every-day ball. And players who just wanted to beat the living daylights out of eachother. It was like rugby on crack! And then they're flying around in the air, that just took it to a whole new level of stupidity in her book. Why couldn't they play normal games, like football, or Soccer. Even baseball would do, even though she didn't like that one all too much. She would have gladly joined then.

After a few minutes laying the grass Janus stood up smiling. He took one last look around before heading back to the school and he noticed some one watching him. He walked over to her the smile still on his face even as he limped slightly. He figured she was a student, sixth or seventh year he thought.
"Hey there. Names Janus Barret. I'm new the Muggle Studies professor." He said as he extended his hand in greeting.

Alex looked at him funny for a moment before responding "I'm Alex Avery. I hope you're not gonna teach that lawn mowers are machines to get rid of gnomes." Alex shook his handquickly. "You got terrible balance, by the way." She paused for a moment, and then added, "But don't worry, half the school does too." Although she didn't notice he limped, she knew that he did favor one leg over the other. That was not good, in any situation.

Janus grinned slightly and rubbed is thigh. "Guess you're not much of a quidditch fan. Two years ago I was one half of the worst collision in the sports history. Even magic has it's limits. i was broken in some way shape or form from head to toe. Had to retire. And don't worry, I spent a good portion of those two years after the accident living in muggle society. "
He took another look back at the pitch for a moment. "So what brings you out this way then?"

Alex's eyebrows shot up, here she thought he just didn't know how to stand right, and the guy actually had leg issues. Crazy. "That's why I don't like quiddich. Too much is going on, and it ends badly." She sighed, and then froze. "Aaah.... I'm out here to... Take a walk. Too stuffy in the castle." Alex nodded. Although lying to the new teacher was a bad thing to do, what was she gonna say? 'Oh, I'm gonna go to that forest, you know, the forbidden one. Yep, gonna go do stretches, and warm ups, and gymnastics, and self defence stuff. Ya know, the usual student life.' Oooh, yes. That would go over real well.

Janus looked at her quizzically for a moment a smile on his face. "Oh really? If I may ask, since your such an amazing quidditch fan, why you decided to take a walk down by the field?" he asked with playful sarcasm as he turned to look around to see what was in the immediate area to draw her down here.

"Aaah..." Alex paused, almost cursing out loud. Stupid teacher, being perceptive. How dare he! Why can't he just accept that she was just one of those wacky students who were just plain wierd. She made a face, but decided to twist this back at him. He asked for it! "I plead..." She almost said 'the fifth', but that wouldn't work, they weren't in America. Instead, she finnished it off with, "temporary insanity. You know. That disease all girls get at that time of the month." She was hoping to make him uncomfortable, as that subject typically did for the male human species. She'd remember seeing her male Sex-Ed teacher squirm in his seat talking about the subject. Alex crossed her arms, and gave him a look, daring him to say different.
