Alex slid into the shop through the back door, muttering darkly to himself. While he was in New York, he had left his favourite staff member in charge. Now he just hoped the place was still in one piece out front, for Alex often forgot that Keesha was still technically a student at Hogwarts. "Hello? Anyone home?" He called, flicking on the lights and surveying the store room before heading into the main area of Kithic.

Keesha was walking along the narrow but busy streets of the Hogsmeade village on her way to work. It has been a week since Alex, her boss, left the shop to her hands for a trip. Juggling work and schoolwork was difficult, but it certainly was fun. Meters away from Kithic, she saw the inside light up through the window. I guess Alex is back, she thought to herself. He went through the front door of the shop, putting on her apron. Even though Alex didn’t require any uniform, Keesha brought an extra apron from home to Kithic. She slowly pushed open the door and there was Alex with his back turned. ”Hey,” she said merrily. Keesha went up to where Alex was and leaned her elbows on the counter top. ”So, how was your trip?”

Alex turned and grinned, fixing Keesha with his trademark smile. "Hey Keesh, long time no see. Glad to know that nothing burnt down," he laughed. "New York was dull, lots of lights and nosy people. Nothing to help with anything, although I did find a recipe that I am dying to try out, simply because of the first ingredient. Licquer." Still laughing, he began shifting chairs and laying tables, eager for something to do with his hands. "How did things go? Was juggling work and school to difficult? Do you not want to be in charge again?" The questions were fired quickly, an attempt to keep her answers truthful as she rushed to answer them.

"Hey Keesh, long time no see. Glad to know that nothing burnt down,"
”Ha ha. Funny Alex,” she said, sticking out her tongue at his teasing. Well two can play that game. ”Of course nothing burnt down, I learned from the best,” she said and went to the other side of the counter passing behind Alex, ”my mom!” she laughed.
“New York was dull, lots of lights and nosy people. Nothing to help with anything, although I did find a recipe that I am dying to try out, simply because of the first ingredient. Liquor.” Keesha shrugged, it took something great to impress Alex. ”Expected. But what I don’t expect is for the Alex to go back to England without some exciting story of a rendezvous with a girl. No birds chased you mate? Pity.” ”Ah, but of course. I’m not sure if I’m willing to try that out dish out. Maybe I’ll let you have a go at it first to see if you drop unconscious,” she let out an amused laugh.
How did things go? Was juggling work and school to difficult? Do you not want to be in charge again?" Keesha was surprised by the questions he shot her, but quickly recovered. ”Things were fine. Yes, it was difficult to handle work and school at the same time with all those essays and what not. But I would be delighted to be in charge again, I’m planning to change the wallpapers to pink flowers,” she joked.

"Your mom must be a great teacher," Alex smiled, turning so he remained facing her. "I did pick up a girl actually, but she was nothing compared to the girls back here. Especially the dark-haired little waitress I know," he teased.
"I'm more than willing to dry the dish before you, but I bet you pass out and I don't. Although if I come back from Cairo next month and find pink anywhere in this shop, I will kill you," he added seriously. "That is why I came so early, I wanted to ask if you were up for a few days of being in charge next month. Not as long as this time, I promise. And I'll bring back some Egyptain stuff," Alex winked.

"I did pick up a girl actually, but she was nothing compared to the girls back here. Especially the dark-haired little waitress I know.”
Keesha’s hand fluttered to her chest, poking fun at Alex, ”Oh my, such a stud. I’m flattered if that’s what you think.” She did a dramatic sigh and frowned, ”But I’m sorry to say that you’re definitely not my type,” she teased him back, laughing loudly. How she missed their playful banter. Alex had a good personality, that type of friend that takes you’re jokes lightly.
"That is why I came so early, I wanted to ask if you were up for a few days of being in charge next month. Not as long as this time, I promise. And I'll bring back some Egyptain stuff," Alex said with a wink.
”Sorry, but your looks don’t work on me love,” she smiled so that he would know that she was joking, “But yes, I can manage while you are away, you lazybutt.”

"I am not lazy," Alex protested, lightly hitting Keesha on the shoulder. "But thanks Keesha, I knew I could count on you." Smiling, he turned and flipped the sign on the door to open. "Come on little Keesha, we have work to do. I can't up and leave, and then not work when I am back."

(OCC: Hey, sorry for the very delayed post. I’ve been very busy with school, and still am. I’ll try to squeeze RPing in between though. ^^)
”Right boss,” she said and pushed herself off from the counter. Keesha went to a table and grabbed the legs of an upturned chair that was on it to place it upright. She had arranged a couple of tables when she decided to break the morning silence. ”Hey Lex?,” she said inquiringly but went on without waiting for his reply, “I don’t get it. Ever since I got here, I haven’t heard you talk about a lass you fancy. I mean, some of the girls just go to Kithic just to take a look at you but you seem distant. Why?”

Alex griited his teeth and turned away from Keesha. "I have no interest in other girls, my only love is no longer with me. Because I was stupid and foolish just a year ago, but now I am going to win her back. I will prove to her that I am different."

When Alex turned his back on her and replied, she had not expected him to be defensive. It may have not been very smart of her to ask, but at least now she knows. With a sigh, she approached Alex and rested her hand on her shoulder. She tried to look up to his distant eyes while saying, “Hey… I’m sorry. I didn’t know it bothered you a lot. But I’m sure what ever you want to do you can, as long as you put your heart to it and you are sincere in your actions. Don’t worry you’ve got your friend right here,” she said with an encouraging smile.

Alex placed a hand over Keesha's with a sad smile. "Thanks Keesh, I appreciate that. Now come on, I need to start testing this new recipe before the lunch rush comes. No way am I getting shut down for poisoning everyone because I mixed the wrong things."

Keesha flashed him a wider and brighter grin,”Alright then,” she said while skipping her way towards the kitchen door. She entered the kitchen with a push at the big swinging door. Hauling herself on top of the kitchen counter, she swung her feet to and fro. Once Alex had followed her inside she asked, “So, what was that dish you were wanting to try?”
