Koyal stepped towards owlrey, her feet moving as if autmoatically, as her mind was full of thoughts.
She was still shaken from what had happened the previous night. Like always, when she had finally thought her heart has found some peace, Jacob had came and shattered it for her. This time, she felt he had shattered it permanently. She knew somewhere her heart still loved him, and that was most painful of all. She wondered if she would ever be able to feel happy again?
She kept walking, thinking about the past events. Maybe it would have been a lot easier to deal with had she gone away to Paris like she had planned to join that band. Things would not have gone so worse. Maybe that was what she should do now. To go away. That was what she had written in her letter to her father. If he could arrange that for her. She knew running away was no solution. But she needed some time to get her mind alright.
She usually hated coming to the owlrey. It was always dirty with owl droppings, dead rats and straws. And worse of all it was situated on top of the towe. And heights always made her dizzy. Today, she noticed none of that as she stpepped inside the room wtih big windows and so many owls.
She paused there to think of previous night.. After running away from Jacob, she had badly needed to go to Perrie. She neeeded his shoulder to cry on. But she had stopped herself. She knew if she went to him, she would have to explain. She will have to tell him how she got those marks on her arms. And that was sure going to be enough reason for Perrie to go and fight with Jacob. Shedid not wish either of them to get hurt. And so, she had simply locked herself inside the girls dormitory. Even now she wore a full sleeved shirt to hide those red marks from her arms.
She needed to talk with Perrie, but she did not trust herself. Last morning, she had been in high spirits. Today, it was an effort for her to smile. Perrie would surely notice that. For first time in her life, she was not sure what to tell him. She felt selfish burdening him with her problems always. If anyone deserved to be happy, it was him. She hoped she could have done something to make that.
