Tasha turned in the corridor, confused. She could have sworn she was on an entirely different floor to the one she had reached, yet she was stood outside the staff room. Over five years I've been here, so how did I end up lost? Again. Sighing, she slumped against the wall, giving up on trying to leave. Her leg was being far from co-operative, she'd just have to wait for someone to show up. Any other time she'd knock on the door for Karma to help her, but the witch knew for a fact that the older woman was teaching a class right now. And Indie had gone to visit a few friends, so she was basically trapped. Groaning, she placed her head in her hands.

Mayank scanned the last assignment on the pile. It was no better than what he had expected in the first few lines, he thought as he marked a P in the corner of the parchment. There, the written assignments were done for the day, which left examining the potion samples from the classes, which he had left in his office. After them, he had to work on a potion he had been creating for his next week's class. Standing up, he glanced at his watch. There was plenty of time to complete all these work.
He arranged the assignments in a neat pile and placed them inside the locker before he stepped out of the staff room door, though he did not walk any farther from there. There was a student slumped against the wall, a Gryffindor girl, he noticed. "Any problem Miss Logan?" he asked.

Tasha looked up and gave Mayank a small smile. "Depends how you define problem. If a problem would include having no means of leaving because you're missing a leg and the replacement doesn't like moving properly, yeah there's a problem." Tasha hesitated before shaking her head. "I expect you're busy, don't let me keep you. I'm sure my brother will find me eventually."

Mayank frowned slightly, thinking, considering for a second to try and help fix the replaced leg with his wand, but then he gave up the idea. He knew a few healing spells but just the basic ones. He should better not risk turning it any worse. "Don't worry about me being busy or not. Would you like me to help you get back to your Common room?" he asked.

"I don't want to put you to any trouble," Tasha sighed. "But I would appreciate your help, thank you." Despite how much Tasha hated having to ask for help, even she could see it wouldn't be wise to stay where she was.

"I don't want to put you to any trouble," "But I would appreciate your help, thank you."
"Its not a trouble," Mayank replied simply and shortly. He wasn't known to be the friendliest of the teachers among students, and even among most of the staff. He wasn't as unkind as he appeared, and that has made him offer the girl his help. He walked forward to help her to stand and walk properly. "Does this leg troubles you often?" he asked.

Tasha rose unsteadily and shrugged. "Yeah, but Inds says I bring it on myself. I'm supposed to use it for at least six hours a day, I tend to just leave it in the dorms so this sort of thing won't happen," she said sheepishly. Mayank Gehi is helping me..... Who would have believed it?

Mayank frowned slightly to hear that. "This is your fault then," he said, "You should use it the way you are required to, and if it continues troubling even after that then you should consult a healer," he suggested.

"Oh don't, I get enough lectures already. It's too uncomfortable to use regularly," Tasha glared.

(( sorry for the late replying ))
"Oh don't, I get enough lectures already. It's too uncomfortable to use regularly,"
Mayank frowned again at her glare, but his tone was calm as he spoke. "Yes and its very obvious how much comfortable it is when you don't use it regularly," he pointed out.

((no worries)) Tasha opened her mouth to argue before frowning. He actually had a point. Not that she was going to admit that of course, God no. "Maybe, but at least when I don't use it I don't end up relying on teachers to help me."

"Maybe, but at least when I don't use it I don't end up relying on teachers to help me."
"Getting help isn't so bad," Mayank commented, though he himself would obviously have hated getting anyone's help as well had he been in her situation, so he did not blame her really. "And if you use it reguarly then you will get used to it."

"Getting help means showing weakness," Tasha muttered darkly, before forcing the thought to the back of her mind. She was certain he didn't need to hear her ranting. "Maybe, but I'm pretty sure I still won't. I quite like having Indie have to obey my every whim."

Mayank smirked. "Won't you count that as taking help as well?" he asked, "And I will still suggest its best to get help from the artificial leg than anyone else."

"Indie isn't help, he is service in the form of a blood relation," Tasha corrected with a grin. "Tell you what. I'll consider using the leg more. That's the best I can offer."
